A few weeks ago, I attended the Epic Reads Winter Tour when it stopped at my local indie, Anderson’s Bookshop. The event itself was awesome (see my full write-up of it HERE), but what made it even more awesome was that I bought a couple books–and got all of them signed–and also got a cool free totebag to take home! I finally got around to photographing all those books, so here they are!
The Crown’s Game
Though Evelyn Skye was on the tour for her newest book, the second book in her second series, I thought this book (the start of her debut series) sounded more up my alley. Russian history + magic + pastries…all good things, in my book.
Be Not Far From Me
Mindy McGinnis has written quite a few books. In this one, her newest, a girl is left struggling to survive after getting lost in the wilderness. Color me intrigued. (Also, love the hidden skull image in the Rorschach image of trees on the front cover.)
This fierce, feminist fairytale riff by Elana K. Arnold goes to some dark places, following (in second-person) a girl who hunts werewolves, but her hunting also has to sync up with her menstrual cycle. Good thing that periods and werewolves both cycle with the moon…
Bonus: my totebag!
It’s a good size for carrying books in, the colors are fantastic, and it’s true: I have no shelf-control. (The back of it is a similar print alongside the Epic Reads logo, in case you were curious.)
So, that’s all from me. Have you guys read any of these? Got any favorites to recommend? Looking forward to checking some of them out on your own? Leave a comment and let me know!
